These health tips will greatly benefit pregnant women.

1. Please ensure you eat regularly, and eat reasonably sufficient foods, meeting all nutritional needs.

2. You need varieties of foods, e.g. fresh vegetables and fruits, beans, wholegrains, parboiled rice, well cooked meat, fish and eggs, nuts, seeds, milk, dairy products.

3. Ensure you eat omega-3 fatty fish at least two times a week.

4. Your intake of high-sugar, and high-fat foods should be reduced. Eat more nutrient-dense foods like vegetables and fruits.

5. Drink at least 2 litres of water, juice, daily.

6. Please learn to use iodized salt.

7. Avoid raw or undercooked meat, poultry, shell fish, unpasteurized milk, or soft cheese.

8. Please keep away from smoking, alcohol, prescription drugs while pregnant (you must consult your doctor before taking these).

9. Please take caffeinated drinks moderately, cup of tea, coka-cola, etc.

10. Commense your intake of folic acid as soon as you are pregnant.

11. When you spend time daily in the open air, it gives you Vitamin D.

12. Exercise daily, e.g. walking, swimming, gardening. This is to improve your health, prevent excessive weight gain, constipation, and would contribute to make your delivery easier and swifter.
